My MURALS Gallery 1
This was a commissioned piece for a private swimming pool in Norfolk, it was my first attempt at a trompel-oeil and one of my first murals.
2006. Really pleased with this mural. It was my second mural, since starting my business, commissiond by Robert Kett school in Wymondham. I was really pleased with the layers.
I like to add a bit of educational value to my murals and, in this one, I included 101 diffrent creatures, to be found by the school pupils, all correct to the North American Rain forest.
In 2014, I was asked to paint 2 skips (4 sides) over a weekend, at the Great Yarmouth sea front, for the public to watch being created. This side was painted completley with the airbrush to give it a full Graffiti effect.
took a little longer to do this side and I wanted to add more detail but with time against my side, and the baking heat drying the paint too quickly to blend, I cut my lossess with just a few Norfolk Broads features.
Side 3, picked a few iconic images of Yarmouth and, with the use of contrasting colours, created a bit of a tourist board design.
Nice way to wrap the project with a sea front setting and a touch of airbrush for the night lights.
2013 saw Norwich's GoGo Gorilla trail and I was asked to design a 3D piece of floor art to promote the art trail. Check out a more indepth look in the My Projects folder.
I was asked to paint a mural, from a popular chidrens book, that told a whole story, I think the gruffalo is one of those stories that a picture paints a 1000 words. Difficut area to work in but effective.
I Only had a day to do this mural in, it was against a metal wall and it was cold so had a few challenges to contend with here. The mural itself however was designed to let the Gym machine users drift away to that special place.
Cromer County Council commissioned me for this piece. They wanted a LARGE mural to inspire sports for the up-comming 2012 Olympics. The brief however was a copywrite minefield on what could and couldn't be used. My biggest mural to date at 54ft long
